Birth of a passion
Born in Maastricht, Miranda grew up with music, and when she talks about music, her eyes light up.
Her father, a singer-musician, gave her this passion. And this consuming passion became her whole life. Rock, pop, country, blues, soul….have allowed her to meet a varied public during numerous tours.
At the age of 17 she joined a pop-rock band. At the same time, she took singing lessons from a lyrical singing teacher to develop her voice and took piano lessons.
Very soon, driven by a real passion, she started to perform in Belgium but soon also in Germany and in other neighboring countries.
At the age of 23 she toured in Switzerland with Atilla Sereftug, the composer of the 1988 Eurovision winning song ‘Ne partez pas sans moi’ sung by Céline Dion. Atilla recorded an album himself and asked Miranda to do the backing vocals.
For the next 10 years she remained with her band High Voltage, with whom she performed the great standards of pop, soul, rock, disco and funk.
In 2003, she left the band to become a freelance singer and lent her voice to duos, trios, but also to much bigger bands in Germany and the Netherlands.
Three years later she joined her already well-known band Nightlife in Germany, with whom she still works.
Today
Now she is also working on a solo project. There she can be discovered more personally and through covers that she brings to life to the point of confusing them with the originals.
The idea of stepping into the shoes of well-known female singers came about and thanks to her wide vocal range, she interprets singers such as Tina Turner, Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga (stimulated by the film A star is born) with boundless energy. The energy you need!
She is also influenced by other currents, most recently Dalida, whose repertoire allows her to explore other musical worlds and where her openness to Latin languages and more intimate registers also resounds.
A journey through the range of emotions, an uncommon energy that gives all the songs she interprets a new color to the music. From one note to the next, her warm and powerful voice colors the standards and hits that she shares with an audience that has been won over in advance….
Her repertoire includes several hundred titles.
She gives each of her songs without exception a new personality, hers without a doubt! A little, a lot, passionately…
On stage I am in my element, singing reflects your state of mind and cleanses your soul at the same time. It’s one of the best therapies to recharge your batteries. Much later, I discovered that the stage is my refuge, where I can free myself from all the burdens, where I can be myself, express myself, where my deepest feelings come out in song form.
Music is my life, and I love sharing this happiness with others.
